Dr Ian Boothroyd

Ian is a freshwater biologist who has experience and knowledge as a commissioner. He has experience working in most regions of New Zealand on a variety of freshwater environmental matters.

His experience extends to other areas of environmental science, including biodiversity, contamination, environmental flows and ecological mitigation and offsets.

Ian has led large teams of environmental and water scientists and ecologists and developed knowledge in a number of areas especially pertaining to resource management decision-making.
